Hacquetia epipactis (Sanicula epipactis)

£ 9.99

Hacquetia epipactis (Sanicula epipactis) produces clusters of small flowers with golden centres surrounded by a lime green bract or ruff. These continue to appear well into the Spring, alongside a dense expanse of glossy emerald-green leaves that will then provide a good foliage display throughout the growing season.

Hacquetia epipactis (also known as Sanicula epipactis) is a charming herbaceous perennial.

How we supply Hacquetia epipactis

The Hacquetia epipactis that we offer are propagated and grown by us. We send a pot full of well rooted plants in leaf and flower dependant upon the growing season.

Where to Plant

Sanicula is a form of woodland herb, so Hacquetia epipactis is well suited to shaded borders, as well under trees and shrubs. It also makes an ideal rock garden plant so long as it is planted in a shaded area. As it grows close to the ground, and is a compact, good clump-former, it provides a carpet of fresh green and yellow hues, ideal to surround your early spring bulbs as well create a point of interest in any shaded gap.

How to plant

Ensure the ground has been enriched with compost before planting. Take care not to damage the roots when planting. Once the foliage fades during late Autumn, cut back to allow for new growth.

They have been awarded the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the Royal Horticultural Society under its alternative name Sanicula epipactis. For more information, please see the RHS website as follows:-
