The much sought after Sanguinaria canadensis multiplex ‘Plena’ AGM produces pure white pom-pom like flowers during Spring, followed by beautifully scalloped, bluish-green foliage that continues throughout the summer.
The much sought after Sanguinaria canadensis multiplex ‘Plena’ AGM is a charming woodland plant from North America. As its name indicates it produces multi-petalled flowers, similar to Gardenia in appearance. During Spring, the buds burst open and the pure white pom-pom flowers appear. As the flower petals fall, beautifully scalloped, bluish-green foliage emerges, adding texture and colour throughout the summer.
How we supply Sanguinaria canadensis multiplex ‘Plena’
We send freshly lifted, flowering sized, bare-rooted rhizomes in the autumn when they are dormant. These can be planted directly into the garden and will also grow well in a pot. They have been propagated entirely by ourselves here at Twelve Nunns and are at least three years old.
We also supply Sanguinaria canadensis multiplex ‘Plena’ as a pot plant despatched from March onwards as it is starting to flower.
Where to plant
Sanguinaria canadensis multiplex prefers a semi shaded position, and enjoys moist, well-drained humus rich soil.
