Anemonella thalictroides, belongs to the Ranunculaceae family and is native to the Eastern USA. In its natural environment, this plant thrives beneath deciduous trees.  It is an ideal choice for planting in dappled shade for example in a shaded rock garden. It is clump forming and creates a very attractive display flowering repeatedly from Spring through to early summer. During late summer, it becomes dormant, overwintering as small tubers just below the soil surface, ready to emerge in the spring.

How we supply Anemonella thalictroides

We send out Anemonella in 1 litre pots for the majority of the year.

During the summer we can supply bundles of flowering sized, dormant tuberous rhizomes, similar to wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa). These will start to root down during the autumn. This is an ideal time to plant them especially whilst the soil is still warm.

How to plant Anemonella thalictroides

They are very easy to grow. Water your plant in its container, some hours before planting then prepare a large enough hole and enrich with compost before planting, taking care not to damage the roots. They need to be checked regularly to ensure they are kept moist until established.
